SerpApi pricing: plans, API cost per search and enterprise rates

The short answer

SerpApi sells monthly searches. The Free tier is 250 a month, then Starter is $25 for 1,000, Developer $75 for 5,000, Production $150 for 15,000, Big Data $275 for 30,000, Searcher $725 for 100,000, Volume $1,475 for 250,000 and Infrastructure $2,750 for 500,000. Cloud plans run from $3,750 for 1,000,000 searches up to $106,050 for 54,000,000. That works out at $25.00 per 1,000 searches on Starter, $7.25 on Searcher, $5.50 on Infrastructure and $3.75 on Cloud 1M. Enterprise is a $3,750 base with 100,000 complimentary searches, then $7.50 per 1,000 on demand or $2.75 per 1,000 reserved. Only successful searches are billed: cached, errored, blocked and CAPTCHA responses are not counted. Every figure here was read from the SerpApi pricing and enterprise pages on 17 September 2026.

SerpApi publishes a clean plan ladder and an enterprise rate card. Neither page converts the two into a cost per 1,000 searches, and neither points out that the two price lists cross over in a way that costs money if you read them in the wrong order.

The standard ladder is straightforward once you divide. Starter is $25.00 per 1,000 searches, Developer $15.00, Production $10.00, Big Data $9.17, Searcher $7.25, Volume $5.90 and Infrastructure $5.50. Cloud 1M drops that to $3.75 and the largest published Cloud tier, 54,000,000 searches for $106,050, reaches $1.96. That is a genuine compression: roughly 13x between the entry tier and the top of the published range.

Two rules then move the real number. Speed is a multiplier rather than an add-on, so Ludicrous Speed doubles and Ludicrous Speed Max quadruples whatever rate your tier gives you. And every standard plan carries an hourly throughput ceiling locked to its monthly quota, which the third card below turns into a number worth checking before you commit.

The rule that goes the other way, in SerpApi favor, is billing on success. Cached, errored, blocked and CAPTCHA responses are not counted against your quota. Several vendors in this category bill any returned document, including a 403, at full rate.

We sell a crawl and extraction API, not a search API, so treat the last section with the skepticism it deserves. SerpApi is the right purchase for a large class of teams and we are not a substitute for it: it returns search engine results pages as structured JSON, and we do not run web search at any price.

If you are deciding between querying an index and fetching pages yourself, search APIs against scraping APIs sets out where each one earns its money. Teams building retrieval for an agent should read how agents pull data from sites they already know, and our web scraping API pricing breakdown puts the whole category on one page.

Why it works

Three things the SerpApi pricing page does not work out for you

Enterprise on demand costs more than a $725 plan

Enterprise on-demand searches are $7.50 per 1,000. The Searcher plan, at $725 a month for 100,000 searches, works out at $7.25 per 1,000, and Cloud 1M reaches $3.75. So the on-demand enterprise rate is not a volume discount at all: it is a premium for capacity you did not reserve, and it sits at double the Cloud 1M rate. The reserved rate of $2.75 per 1,000 is the number that actually rewards an enterprise commitment.

The same $3,750 buys 100,000 searches or 1,000,000

The Enterprise base fee is $3,750 a month and includes 100,000 complimentary searches. The Cloud 1M plan is also $3,750 a month and includes 1,000,000. The base fee is buying the 99.97 percent SLA, ZeroTrace Mode, a custom US contract, priority support and access to the reserved rate. It is not buying volume. If volume is what you need at that budget, the Cloud ladder is the line item to look at first.

Every standard plan is exactly five hours wide

Hourly throughput on all eight standard tiers is exactly one fifth of the monthly quota. Free is 250 searches at 50 an hour, Starter 1,000 at 200, Production 15,000 at 3,000, Searcher 100,000 at 20,000, Infrastructure 500,000 at 100,000. Run any of them flat out and the month is gone in five hours. Cloud plans break that ratio: 1,000,000 searches at 110,000 an hour is just over nine hours, and the 54,000,000 tier is roughly 84. If your workload is a nightly burst rather than a steady trickle, that ceiling binds before the quota does.

Why ClawEngine

One API that crawls, renders and extracts

Not a raw HTML dump, not a headless browser fleet to run, and not a brittle parser to maintain. One call crawls a public page, renders its JavaScript and returns clean markdown or typed JSON, built for RAG pipelines and AI agents.

LLM-ready output

Clean markdown or typed JSON with the boilerplate stripped, so the data drops straight into a vector store, a prompt or an agent without a cleanup step.

JavaScript rendered

Each page loads in a real browser environment before extraction, so single-page apps and client-rendered content come back complete, not as an empty shell.

Compliance-first

ClawEngine works on public, permitted data only. It respects robots.txt and site Terms of Service and honors crawl-delay, so responsible scraping is the default.

SerpApi pricing: the questions buyers ask

How much does SerpApi cost?

SerpApi has a free tier with 250 searches a month. Paid standard plans are Starter at $25 for 1,000 searches, Developer $75 for 5,000, Production $150 for 15,000, Big Data $275 for 30,000, Searcher $725 for 100,000, Volume $1,475 for 250,000 and Infrastructure $2,750 for 500,000. Cloud plans run from $3,750 for 1,000,000 searches to $106,050 for 54,000,000, and Enterprise is a $3,750 base plus usage.

How much does SerpApi cost per search?

Divide the plan price by its quota. Starter is $0.025 a search, Developer $0.015, Production $0.010, Big Data $0.0092, Searcher $0.00725, Volume $0.0059 and Infrastructure $0.0055. Cloud 1M is $0.00375 and the 54,000,000 tier reaches $0.00196. Per 1,000 searches those are $25.00, $15.00, $10.00, $9.17, $7.25, $5.90, $5.50, $3.75 and $1.96.

What is SerpApi enterprise pricing?

A $3,750 monthly base that includes 100,000 complimentary searches, then usage on top. On-demand searches are $7.50 per 1,000, rising to $15.00 with Ludicrous Speed and $30.00 with Ludicrous Speed Max. Reserved searches are $2.75 per 1,000, rising to $5.50 and $11.00 on the same two speed tiers. The base also carries a 99.97 percent SLA, ZeroTrace Mode, priority support and a custom US contract.

What is Ludicrous Speed on SerpApi?

It is a latency tier, and it is priced as a multiplier on your whole rate rather than a flat add-on. Best Effort is the included base price, Ludicrous Speed is 2x and Ludicrous Speed Max is 4x. That makes it the most expensive knob on the platform: Searcher at $7.25 per 1,000 becomes $14.50 or $29.00, and enterprise reserved at $2.75 becomes $5.50 or $11.00.

Does SerpApi have a free tier?

Yes. The free plan gives 250 searches a month at 50 an hour, with no card required. That is enough to validate a parser against the engines and response shapes you care about, but not enough to run anything continuously. We start at a paid tier and have no equivalent, which is a real advantage on their side of the table when you are still evaluating.

What are the SerpApi rate limits?

Throughput is set per plan and expressed per hour. Free allows 50 searches an hour, Starter 200, Developer 1,000, Production 3,000, Big Data 6,000, Searcher 20,000, Volume 50,000 and Infrastructure 100,000. Cloud plans run from 110,000 an hour at the 1,000,000 tier up to 640,000 at the largest. On every standard tier the hourly ceiling is exactly one fifth of the monthly quota.

Is SerpApi billed monthly or annually?

Month to month, cancellable at any time, with upgrades and downgrades allowed without restriction. There is also a refund rule worth knowing: a full refund is available within seven days if you have used fewer than 20 percent of your searches. That makes the first week of a paid tier a genuine trial rather than a commitment.

When is a SERP API the wrong tool?

When you already know the URLs. Teams routinely use a search API to reach the content of pages they could fetch directly, and pay search rates for what is really a page fetch. If your pipeline starts from a domain, a sitemap or a list of links, a crawl and extraction API bills that work per page and returns the body rather than a results set. Search earns its cost when discovery is the hard part.

Does SerpApi price Google Flights and Google Lens differently?

No. The published ladder meters searches, not engines, so a Google Flights, Google Lens, Google Maps or Bing query draws one successful search from the same monthly quota as a plain Google query. What differs between engines is the response shape your parser has to handle, not the rate. Speed tier and plan are the only two things that change what a search costs.

Does SerpApi offer a volume discount?

A substantial one across the published range. Starter is $25.00 per 1,000 searches and the largest published Cloud tier reaches $1.96, which is roughly a 13x compression over a 54,000x jump in volume. The steepest part of the curve is early: moving from Starter to Developer alone cuts the rate by 40 percent, and by Searcher you are paying less than a third of the entry rate.

Good questions

Questions about SerpApi pricing

They bill for different work, so the comparison only makes sense on pages you already have URLs for. A SerpApi search costs $25.00 per 1,000 on Starter and $7.25 on Searcher, against $0.78 per 1,000 pages on our Hobby tier and $0.40 on Startup. But a search is not a page fetch: it is a ranked results set parsed out of a live engine response. For rank tracking, ad monitoring or local packs there is no per-page equivalent here at any price.
No. The pricing page states that only successful searches count toward your monthly total, and that cached, errored and failed searches are not counted. The enterprise page adds that searches which are blocked or receive CAPTCHAs are not counted either. On a flaky target that rule is worth real money, and it is more generous than vendors that bill any returned document at full rate.
