Terms of Service

The terms that govern your use of ClawEngine, the web scraping API that turns public web pages into clean, LLM-ready data. Last updated: June 2026.

Acceptance of these terms

By using clawengine.ai or signing up for ClawEngine, you agree to these terms of service. If you are acting on behalf of an organization, you agree on its behalf and confirm you are authorized to do so. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What ClawEngine is

ClawEngine is a web scraping API. You send a URL or a domain, and the service crawls the page, renders its JavaScript, extracts the content and any fields you define, and returns clean markdown or structured JSON. It is offered on paid plans and is built for public, permitted data only.

Public and permitted data only

ClawEngine is intended for crawling public web pages and data you are permitted to access, such as public documentation, product catalogs, listings, your own sites and sites you have permission to crawl. The service respects robots.txt and site Terms of Service and honors crawl-delay. It is not designed or to be used to bypass authentication, defeat paywalls or login walls, evade bot detection, or collect private or personal data. You may not use ClawEngine to do any of those things.

Your responsibilities

You decide which URLs to crawl, and you are responsible for that choice. You agree to use the service in line with all laws that apply to you, including data protection, privacy, intellectual property and computer-misuse laws, and to comply with the Terms of Service of the sites you crawl. You confirm that you have the right to crawl and use the data you request, and you are responsible for how you use the output. You agree to provide accurate information when you sign up.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the service responsibly and not to:

  • Crawl content behind authentication, paywalls or login walls, or attempt to defeat bot detection or access controls.
  • Collect private or personal data, or data you do not have the right to access or use.
  • Ignore or attempt to override robots.txt, crawl-delay or a site's stated Terms of Service.
  • Use the output to infringe someone else's rights, privacy or intellectual property.
  • Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer or overload the service, or circumvent its limits.
  • Resell or redistribute the service except under a written agreement with us.

You are responsible for the requests you submit and for how you use the data ClawEngine returns to you.

Your content and data

As between you and us, you keep all rights to the requests you submit and to the output we return to you, to the extent you have the right to that data. You grant us only the limited permission needed to process your requests and provide the service, as described in our privacy policy. We do not sell your data and we do not use the public data we crawl for you to train public models or for anyone else's marketing.

Accounts and access

You must provide accurate information when you sign up and keep any API credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account and keys. Tell us promptly if you believe your account or keys have been used without your permission.

Plans, billing and refunds

ClawEngine is offered on paid plans, including Hobby, Startup, Scale and Enterprise. All prices and charges are in US dollars. Plans are sized by a monthly page allowance, with usage-based overage billed per page beyond that allowance. Subscriptions renew automatically, monthly or yearly depending on the term you choose, until cancelled. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. We may change our plans and prices, and we will give notice of changes that affect an active subscription.

Service availability

We work to keep ClawEngine available and performing well, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, change or temporarily suspend features to maintain and improve the service. We do not control third-party websites and cannot guarantee that any given page will be crawlable or available.

Intellectual property

ClawEngine, including its software, interface, content and brand, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service in accordance with these terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from the service except as expressly permitted. The names of other companies, platforms and products referenced on this site are used for identification only and remain the property of their respective owners.

Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service is error-free or that any particular page can be crawled or extracted. We make no warranty about the lawfulness of any specific crawl you choose to run, which remains your responsibility. The figures shown on this site are typical outcomes, not guarantees.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClawEngine and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the service or from the data you choose to crawl. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim.

Termination

You can stop using the service at any time and cancel your plan. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or use the service in a way that risks harm to others, to crawled sites or to the platform, including any use that targets private or non-permitted data.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. When we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [governing jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
