Olostep pricing and Olostep API cost per 1,000 pages by plan and credit

The short answer

Olostep pricing has four self-serve steps: a free trial of 500 requests, Starter at $9 a month for 5,000, Standard at $99 for 200,000 and Scale at $399 for 1,000,000, plus a custom Enterprise tier. That is $1.80, $0.495 and $0.399 per 1,000 credits. One credit buys one plain scrape, one crawled page or one batch URL, with JavaScript rendering and residential IP addresses included. The bill moves with three rules from the Olostep documentation: LLM extract costs 10 credits a page, a parser costs 1 to 5, and an Answers request costs 20. So Standard covers 200,000 plain pages but only 20,000 typed with LLM extract, which is $4.95 per 1,000. Top-up packs cost $20 for 10,000 credits, $200 for 250,000 and $1,000 for 2,000,000 and stay valid for six months. Every figure here was read from the Olostep pricing page and its documentation, never from an aggregator.

Olostep has one of the friendliest price lists in web scraping. Four plans, round numbers, and a promise most vendors do not make: every request is JavaScript rendered and sent through a residential IP address, on every tier, with no multiplier for either. A team that has been burned by 5x and 25x credit multipliers elsewhere will find that refreshing, and it is a real advantage.

The part the pricing page does not spell out is that a credit and a page are only the same thing on the plainest call. The per-endpoint costs live in the documentation, one line at the bottom of each feature page. A scrape is 1 credit. A scrape with a parser is 1 to 5. A scrape with LLM extract is 10. A search is 5 before any page is read, and an Answers request is 20. None of that is hidden, but nobody adds it up for you, and it changes the Standard plan from 200,000 pages to 20,000 the moment you ask for typed output through the model.

The second thing worth knowing before you buy is how the top-up packs compare with the plans. Packs are sold as the option for spiky usage, and they are valid for six months, which is generous. They are also priced above the subscription at every size. The 250,000 pack costs $200, while two months of Standard cost $198 and carry 400,000 credits.

We sell a crawl API, so read the third column of the table below with that in mind. Olostep beats us at the entry price, on bundled residential IPs, on search and on batch size, and we say so in the rows where it does. Where we compete is typed output at volume, because schema extraction is part of the page price on our Startup and Scale plans instead of a 10 credit line.

If you are choosing between vendors rather than pricing one, Olostep vs Firecrawl pricing per 1,000 pages puts both credit systems side by side, and Olostep alternatives compared covers the wider field. Firecrawl pricing by plan and credit has the full Firecrawl ladder, and our web scraping API pricing breakdown lists every per-page rate we could verify in one place.

Why it works

Three credit rules that decide what Olostep really costs

LLM extract turns 200,000 pages into 20,000

A plain scrape is 1 credit, and the same scrape with LLM extract is 10. On Standard that moves the rate from $0.495 to $4.95 per 1,000 pages, and on Scale from $0.399 to $3.99. Olostep says the cost can be lowered by bringing your own model keys or by asking for usage-based pricing, both arranged by email. Budget typed output at 10 credits until you have that in writing.

Parsers are the cheap route to JSON, for sites Olostep already knows

A parser returns structured JSON for 1 to 5 credits depending on the parser, which is $0.495 to $2.475 per 1,000 pages on Standard. Parsers are written for a specific site or page type, so they suit recurring jobs against the same targets. For a long tail of sites with different layouts you are back on LLM extract at 10 credits, or writing and maintaining parsers yourself.

Top-up packs cost more per credit than the plan next to them

Packs work out to $2.00 per 1,000 credits at 10,000, $0.80 at 250,000 and $0.50 at 2,000,000, against $0.495 on Standard and $0.399 on Scale. You are paying for the six month validity. That is a fair trade for a one-off research job and a poor one for steady monthly volume, where the subscription is cheaper at every size above Starter.

Why ClawEngine

One API that crawls, renders and extracts

Not a raw HTML dump, not a headless browser fleet to run, and not a brittle parser to maintain. One call crawls a public page, renders its JavaScript and returns clean markdown or typed JSON, built for RAG pipelines and AI agents.

LLM-ready output

Clean markdown or typed JSON with the boilerplate stripped, so the data drops straight into a vector store, a prompt or an agent without a cleanup step.

JavaScript rendered

Each page loads in a real browser environment before extraction, so single-page apps and client-rendered content come back complete, not as an empty shell.

Compliance-first

ClawEngine works on public, permitted data only. It respects robots.txt and site Terms of Service and honors crawl-delay, so responsible scraping is the default.

Code examples

Typed fields without the 10 credit line

On Olostep a typed page through LLM extract draws 10 credits. If the sites are already on your list and publicly reachable, send a start URL, a page limit and a schema, and each page returned counts as one page of the plan with the typed fields included. Schema extraction is part of the Startup and Scale plans.

curl Crawl a known site into typed fields (POST /v1/crawl)

People also ask

Olostep pricing, the questions buyers ask

How much does Olostep cost?

Olostep costs $9 a month on Starter for 5,000 successful requests, $99 on Standard for 200,000 and $399 on Scale for 1,000,000, with a free trial of 500 requests and a custom Enterprise tier. That works out to $1.80, $0.495 and $0.399 per 1,000 credits. Features such as parsers, LLM extract, search and Answers use more than one credit per request.

Is Olostep free?

Olostep has a free trial, not a free plan for production use. The trial includes 500 successful requests with no credit card required, and those requests are JavaScript rendered and use residential IP addresses like the paid tiers. The pricing page notes low rate limits on the trial. At 10 credits per LLM extract call, 500 credits cover 50 typed pages.

How many credits does an Olostep scrape cost?

A scrape costs 1 credit by default, according to the Olostep documentation. Adding a parser changes the cost to between 1 and 5 credits depending on the parser, and adding LLM extract makes it 10 credits. A crawl costs 1 credit per page crawled and a batch costs 1 credit per URL, so plain page collection is one credit a page on every endpoint.

How much does Olostep LLM extract cost?

LLM extract costs 10 credits per scrape. On Standard that is $4.95 per 1,000 typed pages and a ceiling of 20,000 pages a month, and on Scale it is $3.99 per 1,000 and 100,000 pages. The documentation says you can lower the cost by bringing your own API keys or enabling usage-based pricing, both of which require contacting Olostep.

How much do Olostep parsers cost?

A scrape that uses a parser costs 1 to 5 credits, and the documentation says the figure varies by parser. On Standard that is $0.495 to $2.475 per 1,000 pages. Olostep describes parsers as the cost-efficient choice for pulling the same fields from the same websites on a recurring basis, compared with LLM extract at 10 credits.

How much does Olostep search cost?

Each search costs 5 credits for the search itself. If you ask Olostep to scrape the results as well, every scraped page is billed at the normal scrape rate, typically 1 credit. The documentation gives the example of a search plus five scraped pages at 10 credits, which is $4.95 per 1,000 such searches on Standard and $3.99 on Scale.

How much does the Olostep Answers API cost?

An Answers request costs 20 credits. On Standard that is $9.90 per 1,000 answers and a ceiling of 10,000 a month, and on Scale it is $7.98 per 1,000 and 50,000 a month. One answer has Olostep search, browse and validate a result with a model, which is why it is priced at twenty times a plain scrape.

Do Olostep credits expire?

Top-up packs are valid for six months, which the pricing page states directly. For subscription credits the page does not publish a rollover rule. The billing API returns your balance as separate lots, each with its own expiry date, for subscription and top-up credits alike, so the reliable way to know is to read the expiry on each lot from the credits endpoint.

Does Olostep charge for failed requests?

Olostep plans are sold as successful requests: 5,000 on Starter, 200,000 on Standard and 1,000,000 on Scale. That wording means a request that fails is not meant to draw down the allowance. It is a buyer-friendly rule, and it differs from vendors that bill a credit for any response, including a page that returns 403 or 404.

Is Olostep cheaper than Firecrawl?

For plain pages, yes. $99 buys 200,000 credits on Olostep Standard and 100,000 on Firecrawl Standard billed monthly, so Olostep is about half the price per page. For typed output through a model the two meet: Olostep LLM extract is 10 credits and Firecrawl JSON is 5, so each $99 plan covers 20,000 typed pages, $4.95 per 1,000.

Good questions

Questions about Olostep pricing

At the entry point, yes. Olostep starts at $9 for 5,000 requests with a free trial, where our lowest plan is $49 and there is no free plan. For plain pages at $99 the two are close: 200,000 credits on Olostep Standard against about 250,000 pages on our Startup plan. For typed output the gap is wide. 100,000 pages through LLM extract use 1,000,000 credits, which is Olostep Scale at $399, and the same pages with schema extraction fit inside our $99 Startup plan.
The Olostep pricing page lists 150 concurrent requests on Starter and 500 on Standard, and describes the free trial as having low rate limits without giving a number. Batches run separately: the documentation describes submitting large URL lists to the batch endpoint and collecting results when the job completes, billed at 1 credit per URL. Enterprise limits are set by contract.
