Refund Policy
How payments for ClawEngine plans work, when a charge is returned, and how to stop the next renewal. Effective October 14, 2026.
Payments are final
Every ClawEngine plan is a monthly or yearly subscription billed in US dollars. A payment opens the API for that term: the monthly page allowance of your plan, schema extraction where the plan includes it, and the dashboard and keys, as listed on the pricing page. The term is available in full once it is paid, and the fee does not change with the number of pages you actually fetch. Charges are therefore final, apart from the three cases below. This policy forms part of our terms of service.
Subscribing is a request for us to start at once, and you accept that any statutory right of withdrawal or cooling-off period ends when the service begins.
Situations we do not refund
- Pages left unused at the end of a month. The allowance resets with the plan and does not roll over or turn into money.
- Your project ended, changed direction or moved to another scraping provider.
- A target website blocked requests, changed its layout or returned content that did not fit your schema.
- Extracted data that was incomplete or not what you expected for a particular page. Model-mapped output varies by page.
- Requests refused after the allowance was used up. Nothing is billed beyond the allowance, and a larger plan is the way to more pages.
- A renewal you forgot to cancel, or cancelled right after it was charged.
- Expecting a one-time payment. Every plan is recurring, as the pricing page, checkout, confirmation email and account show.
- A feature that is not described on the pricing page, or that behaves differently from what you assumed.
- Choosing the wrong plan or term, or someone else using your API key or account.
The three exceptions
We return a charge only in these cases, only where our records support the request, and never above what you paid for the affected term.
- Duplicate charge. A billing fault on our side charged you twice for the same term.
- Proven unauthorised charge. Your card was used without your permission, you report it within 14 days of the charge, and our records and our payment operator's records confirm it. A claim by itself is not proof, and we may ask you to confirm that the card issuer was informed.
- Total failure of the service. A confirmed fault on our side made the API completely unusable for a continuous period, you reported it at the time, and we could not fix it. Slow responses, errors on individual target sites and problems with your own code, network or infrastructure are excluded.
An approved return is paid to the card that was charged, is our full liability for that charge, and does not entitle you to another.
Cancelling and renewals
Plans renew automatically. You can cancel from your account at any time without contacting us. Nothing further is charged, and your keys keep working until the paid term ends. Unused days and unused pages are not credited back, and moving to a smaller plan returns no money for the current term.
Cancelling affects later terms only. A renewal that has already been charged stays charged, and you keep that term. If a renewal payment fails, it remains due for a term that has started, so the card is retried over the following days. Those retries recover one unpaid invoice and are not additional charges, and a renewal paid after them is not refundable. To avoid a renewal, cancel before the date shown in your account.
Requesting a review
Email support@clawengine.ai from the address on your account within 14 days of the charge, with its date and amount and the exception you rely on. Requests sent later or another way are not reviewed, and declined requests are not reopened.
Records we keep
By creating an account you accept our terms of service and privacy policy, which include this policy. The checkout shows the plan, the price, the term and the automatic renewal before payment, and the confirmation email and your account repeat them.
For every subscription we keep the purchase time, the plan and price shown, the acceptance of the terms, the emails we sent about it, and the account activity log, including sign-ins, API keys created and requests made, with the technical details recorded beside each entry. Our payment operator keeps its own record of every charge, including the card's issuing country, where the payment came from and the result of bank authentication such as 3D Secure. Unauthorised-charge claims are assessed against both.
Chargebacks
Contact us before your bank. Opening a chargeback without writing to us first breaches the terms of service and leads to permanent closure of the account, and we send the records above to the card issuer.
Earlier purchases
Subscriptions bought before October 14, 2026 remain under the terms that applied on the day of purchase.
